Supplies needed: Drawing paper, pencil and sharpener, eraser, protractor, compass with screw adjustment control (can be found at Office Depot). Optional supplies: Colored pencils or markers.

“Joy of Geometric Design”, Two 90 minute sessions

CLASS DESCRIPTION

Create beautiful designs with ancient methods and knowledge once reserved to elite few. Create designs and tessellations to color and enjoy. Play with polygons, learn about Golden Section found in nature and used by artists for centuries. This class will benefit stained glass artists, quilters, tile floor designers, artists interested in shaped and patterns. Mr. Ackerman will have some of his designs and his book available for purchase.



ARTISTS BIO

Educational: BA in Theater Arts, Kalamazoo College,

30 years of study of Sacred Geometry and Geometric Design.

Self-published book: Quilting Geometry, sold internationally

Created and sold quilt patterns based on his own original geometric designs

Seminar Attendance: Sacred Geometry and the Golden Section

Experienced teacher of all ages. Homeschools his own children

Guide for the Museum of the Mountain West, Montrose, Co.
