Our Story

Montrose Center for the Arts

MCA is a non-profit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization dedicated to engaging all citizens, artists and art enthusiasts by showcasing and nurturing the arts. MCA is operated by volunteers who offer their service in performing daily tasks and hosting the galleries and gift shop. Strategies for ongoing operations and maintenance are membership dues, fundraising events, class tuitions, art sales, rental of office suites and art walls and grant funding.

An Idea Is Born

Twelve area artists gathered to share ideas and discuss the future of art culture in Montrose. The discussion quickly centered on the need for quality space to house meetings, events, classes and exhibits for artists. The Montrose Center for the Arts (MCA) was formed and the journey began to create an art center. In May, 2019, the sought-after building became a reality that is the cultural gathering place for city of Montrose.
